How To Install Metal Fence Post Repair Spurs Simply dig out around the back of your rotten or broken fence post roughly 600mm down or as near as you can get. Now insert your repair spur behind the broken post. You should be left with roughly 400mm of the metal post left above the ground. Notice the pre-drilled holes, fix through using suitable fixings. Use a level to make sure your post and fence is up level and then pour in a bag of post mix or concrete. Back fill with spoil and make sure the area is firmly compacted down.
